This week's Dharma Talk will be by Nick Chikudo Howells on the "way-seeking mind.”
Hailing from Chico, CA, Nick Chikudo Howells is an SF Bay Area resident who began spiritual practice studying the martial art Aikido and Japanese culture at the Davis Aikikai. He first began Zen practice at the San Francisco Zen Center in 2006. He has lived at SFZC City Center, Tassajara, and Jikoji and has also practiced with the Sanshinji Sangha in Bloomington, IN.
Nick received the Buddhist precepts in 2020 with Ryushin Paul Haller, receiving the Dharma name 竹道 祖機, Chikudo Soki, Bamboo Way, Ancestral Function.
In addition to practicing Zen, Nick also enjoys walking the Red Road, and participating in Lakota-style Inipi Sweatlodges and Hanbleceya Vision Quests.

To help maintain as best we can the intimacy and integrity of an in-person gathering, we ask all who join us online to please observe the following practices.
- Sign in using real name.
- Keep microphone muted unless speaking during discussion periods.
- Maintain zendo silence during meditation periods and while waiting for discussion period to begin.
- Keep camera on and maintain facial visibility during discussion period.
- Anonymous participation online will not be permitted, as it would not be permitted in person.
