• ONSITE AT TASAJARA ZEN CENTER •
(Space IS limited to 8 attendees)
Join the Jikoji sangha for a week at Tassajara Zen Mountain Center, led by Guiding Teacher Ōshin Jennings Sensei! This week at Tassajara offers an intimate container to experience residential Zen practice under the guidance of a teacher in a small group setting.
Founded in 1967, Tassajara (Zenshinji or Zen Heart-Mind Temple) is located in a remote mountain valley in the Ventana Wilderness. Founded by Shunryu Suzuki Roshi, Tassajara became the first Zen monastery in America.
As a young priest, Kobun Roshi was invited to Tassajara from Japan to help in establishing the monastery. Later Kobun served as the resident teacher of Tassajara and was instrumental in establishing the practice in this remote and beautiful location. The valley surrounding Tassajara contains a collection of natural hot springs, hiking trails, and spacious mountain vistas that encourage practitioners and visitors to find a more present way of being.
