** ON ZOOM ONLY *
New Year’s Eve + New Year’s Day + Zazenkai Saturday =
New Year’s Dharmapalooza
at Jikoji
Thurs, Dec 31 – Fri , Jan 1 – Sat, Jan 2
Please join us for some meditation and share your personal reflections as this challenging year winds down.
Thursday evening, December 31, after zazen, our service will include the Full Moon Ceremony and the Heart Sutra. The ceremony includes repentance and renewal, writing down our regrets and taints we wish to transcend, then burning the paper in a fire, in the zendo stove or, for those more remote, a virtual fire, perhaps. Then we bow (standing bows or prostrations) to 108 Bells to begin our effort for renewal. The bows end at midnight.
New Year's Day, January 1 and also Saturday, January 2, we offer a schedule (9am – 5pm) of sitting and walking meditation and an afternoon Dharma discussion.
Join us if for as much as you can of our New Year’s Dharmapalooza – or is it a Dharmapaloozoom? Either way, we hope to see you!
