PLEASE NOTE: Due to intermittent technical issues, if you registered for sesshin and have not received a confirmation email within 24 hours, we ask that you please register again. Nehan-e is our annual silent meditation retreat held in honor of the Buddha’s entering parinirvana, nirvana beyond death. This year, our week-long sesshin will again be led by Carolyn Dille, a transmitted student of Jikoji's founding director Angie Boissevain, continuing our tradition of a Floating Zendo connection to Jikoji's Nehan-e. Portions of out Monday program will be led by Paula Jones, from Floating Zendo San Diego.
Nehan-e this year will be focusing on our bodhisattva vows, with the help of Shantideva’s “Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life.”
Because the sesshin is virtual this year, we encourage those who attend to begin with the Friday, February 5 evening Zazen, Opening Remarks, and Refuges. The few changes in form that virtual reality necessitates will be covered then.
REGISTRATION: Registration helps us with our planning and scheduling. Please register by clicking here, or the button nearby.
COST: Jikoji operates on Donations. The Dharma and our programs are freely offered, and no one is ever turned away for lack of funds. The suggested Donation for this event is $25 - $50 per day, and does not include Teacher dana.
TEACHER DANA: If you would like to offer Teacher Dana to Carolyn, you can send it to hoshinjikai@icloud.com at either PayPal or Venmo. Suggested Teacher dana is $10 - $20 per day. (Teacher dana is not included in the Jikoji suggested registration fee, which covers sesshin costs.)
We are grateful for and dependent on your financial support for our sustainability, especially during this time of limited social gatherings. Questions? Please feel free to call Jikoji 408-741-9562 or email us at info@jikoji.org.
