________
Our study topic is “Genjo-koan (The Realized Universe)”, from Ehei Dogen’s Shobogenzo, Treasury of the True Dharma Eye. Dogen (1200-1250) presented this fascicle to his lay student Yo Koshu in 1233.
At this time of the virus, Jikoji will still be observing our traditional full-day sesshin schedule (below), and sharing most of it over Zoom, gathering the light online across time zones with our extended Jikoji sangha.
Each day of sesshin, students and teachers of the Phoenix Cloud lineage will share the teaching in an afternoon Dharma Talk and discussion. Our primary translations of the Genjo-koan will be by Nishijima and Cross (1994), and Tanahashi, ed., (2010).
Here are our 3 pm speakers for each day.
Mike Newhall, Tuesday
Connie Ralls, Wed
Dean Williams, Thursday
Meido Anderson, Friday
Dan Zigmond, Saturday
Taizan Adams, Sunday
As always, you may attend part-time, as you are able.
All are welcome!
Jikoji operates on Donations, and the Dharma and our programs are freely offered. We are grateful for and dependent on your financial support for our sustainability, especially during this time of limited social gatherings.
