Board MEETING

AGENDA
At any Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors the following agenda items, in addition to such other items as the Board deems necessary, shall be considered.
(1) Call to order and introduction and appointment of a facilitator.
(2) Minutes approval: The board secretary will present the minutes of the previous meeting for Board approval.
(3) Reports (e.g., Treasurer, (as to the financial condition of Jikoji) Guiding Teacher(s) (as to matters related to practice) and Committees (as to each Committee’s area of responsibility);
(4) Discussion, Consent & Action items
“Electors” are Sangha members who are eligible to cast votes in the election of Board Members. In order for a Sangha member to be an Elector all of the following 3 conditions must be met*:
1) At least one of the following is true:
a. They are a current or former Board member
b. They have completed at least two years of service as a “long term retreatant” at Jikoji
c. They have been ordained in the lineage of either Kobun Chino Otogawa or his brother, Hojosama Keibun Otogawa. This includes both priest and/or lay ordination.
2) They are physically present at the meeting.
3) They self-proclaim that they have been “active” in the affairs of Jikoji in the preceding year and that claim is not disputed by a majority of the existing board. The term “active” means they have “maintained a Buddhist practice at Jikoji during the preceding year.”
Based on the above criteria 1, 2, and 3. the following persons will be eligible to be electors as of July 7th, 2024:

If you feel that any person listed above has been incorrectly deemed eligible to be an elector OR that a person who is eligible to be an elector is not on the list, please contact shisuii@jikoji.org as soon as possible and before 11:59pm on June 30th so that your request may be reviewed by the Board of Directors.
